  1. Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park - Exotic Creatures 

Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park was established in 1983 with the aim to protect marine life, like the nesting sea turtles and corals important to the region. Located in Wandoor on the Andaman Islands, which is less than 30 kilometers from the capital city, the park is under the protection of the Chief Wildlife Warden of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands’ forest department.

The park covers over 280 square kilometers of land and is made up of 17 islands. It consists of two major island groups - the Twin Islands and the Labyrinth Islands. These are located 16 kilometers south of Port Blair. All the islands are a part of the Rutland Archipelago.

In order to visit the park, you will be required to obtain a permit first. In case you wish to hire a boat or go for a diving trip, you will be required to pay an additional fee for the same. You can reach Wandoor by bus or a hired taxi in around 45 minutes. Buses are available from Port Blair to Wandoor and vice versa almost every 30 minutes.
