Experience a different viewpoint of the ocean with the Dolphin Glass Bottom Boat Ride. The glass bottom boat provides an experience like no other as you seamlessly float across the glassy surface of the water and sink into the awfully beautiful underwater adventure below you. With the glass bottom of the boat you can take your time, viewing colourful fish swimming in and out of the colourful coral creations you examined above water, while you also look for the amusing dolphins swimming along with you.
The glass bottom boat experience surrounding the beautiful islands is rewarding, enjoyable, and a great option for families, couples or solo travellers that want to be dry yet have ocean engagement. The sun is inviting your best face to greet the salty winds blowing through your hair as you glide through the wonder below the waves and this is a trip you won't soon forget.
Tourists should definitely make time for the Dolphin Glass Bottom Boat Ride because it offers a truly unique and immersive way to experience the ocean’s natural beauty. Unlike typical sightseeing tours, this ride allows you to witness the underwater world without ever getting wet. Through the clear glass panels at the bottom of the boat, you’ll see vibrant coral reefs, schools of colourful fish, and if you're lucky, even sea turtles gracefully gliding by. But the real highlight is the dolphins—often playful and curious, they may swim right alongside the boat, leaping and splashing in a breathtaking display that feels almost magical.
In the Andaman Islands, there are two places to go on one of these rides - North Bay Island and Elephant Beach on Havelock Island. North Bay Island is closer to Port Blair and has lots of coral, and of course lots of marine wildlife and marine diversity, however Elephant Beach on Havelock Island has some of the clearest water with active marine wildlife of all description and bright colours. Both places allow you to view the underwater world without having to swim with a glass bottom boat allowing you to see under the sea with no swimming or scuba diving!
Enjoy the memorable ride at stunning beaches:
Dolphin Glass Bottom Boat Ride on Havelock Island provides great access to Andaman Sea unique marine life yet remaining dry. The all-around fun experience for friends and family, this trip includes excitement for kids and adults alike, making it family friendly! Although there are no age limits on the boat ride, it is best to check with each tour operator's individual specifications. The boats are quite safe and a very comfortable ride, and all passengers will have a life jacket on during the tour, it is also important to note the boats are clear glass bottom boats, so there are no special swimming skills, or abilities to see.
Between October and May is the ideal time for the Dolphin Glass Bottom Boat Ride in locations like Havelock Island (Andaman & Nicobar Islands). The weather conditions are a lot better, the sea is calmer, and the underwater visibility is excellent. You can spot coral reefs and all the colourful species of fish, along with spotting dolphins. Monsoonal weather (June to September) should be avoided, as the heavy rain and rough sea conditions could lead to cancellations, or underwater visibility that is poor, with a chance of seeing virtually nothing. The ideal times for this ride are usually in the morning or maybe early in the afternoon - you want the sun to pass through the glass bottom of the boat enhancing underwater visibility. In addition, if you want to enjoy the most pictorial experience possible, try and plan your ride on a clear sunny day, with little wind. Calm waters help deliver a smooth ride and also give you the highest chance to see marine life, in normal situations.
